ROLE PURPOSE

 

To translate the Key Accounts strategic direction into actionable operational plans, ensuring effective implementation of member retention and new business initiatives. The role oversees processes, performance, people, and stakeholder engagement to support the Scheme’s growth and service excellence objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities


Strategic & Operational Leadership


  • Translate strategy into clear operational plans and retention activities.
  • Identify business improvement opportunities across processes and systems.
  • Oversee execution of work plans and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Monitor performance, trends and member behaviour to inform decision-making.

Account & Relationship Management

  • Strengthen relationships with employer groups, brokers and partners.
  • Implement retention campaigns and customer service feedback mechanisms.
  • Oversee resolution of complex queries, ensuring service excellence.
  • Analyse customer insights to identify growth opportunities.
  • Own reliable vehicle required
  • Travel for business is a requirement for this role

Project & Risk Oversight

  • Oversee key annual processes (annexures, tax certificates, reporting).
  • Ensure effective delivery of special projects and initiatives.
  • Uphold governance, compliance and ISO9001 standards.
  • Maintain and enforce SLAs and internal controls.

People & Financial Management

  • Lead and develop the Key Accounts team to foster high performance.
  • Drive talent development, coaching and succession planning.
  • Manage budget, monitor spend and apply cost-control measures.

 

EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATION

  • 5 years in Sales/Portfolio Management
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in a medical Scheme/Medical Administrator
  • Technical knowledge 5 years of NEXUS system experience
  • B-Degree in Business Management (NQF Level 7)
  • RE5 (Advantageous)
